More Iceboating...

In case you're wondering, it's been years since we've had this many ice boats on the Maumee Bay - so those of us into 'hard water' sailing are pretty excited!

But the iceboaters aren't the only ones enjoying the day...this group of snowmobilers took a break from their trips around the bay to get together...

These photos are of our Renegade "Rag Time"...my father built it when I was in grade school and I still recall the smell of the fiberglass and glue...These days, Dad thought it would get more use if my husband sailed it...and that's exactly what he's doing!

My only gripe about ice boating is the ice. Winter just is'nt my venue. I'll stick to the warmer months! Nothing better than a cold Sam Adams while getting a tan on the dock!

Interestingly, -sepp, hubby and friends said it was quite 'pleasant' ... even taking off their gloves because of the warmth.

And there was a warming trend - it got into the 20s yesterday.

And, according to those who drink beer, a cold Sam Adams goes down just as well after a screaming (50 mph) run across the bay. :)

Screaming being the operative word here.

I too am more of a fan of fluid water than the hard stuff, although we did lots of ice skating during the last ice age (the 50-60's) :-)

Sigh...now I feel even worse that I didn't just have Miguel take Aubrey over without me.

I am finally feeling almost human today...

I seen the clip on the news about this and thought of you. Sounds like all had a great time. It definitely would be something fun to do!
