To Toledo's elected officials:

Excessive taxation... will carry reason and reflection to every man’s door, and particularly in the hour of election.” —Thomas Jefferson

LOL! Jefferson has never met a Lucas county democrat! They gripe and complain just like the rest of us and then seemingly forget everything once inside the voting booth.

It's not just the dems so it must be something in the water.

The problem is that the taxpayer's definition of excessive is nothing like that of the current crop of politicians. . .

I think that the Toledo Government ought to adopt the motto:

"No job too small, no fee too big for Toledo."

And yet, they wonder why there's brain drain...

AMEN! To pointing out the obvious/ironic in charters verses TPS. I am a transplant here in Toledo, and after 2 yrs in TPS we are choosing charter schools. We did our research, and since the local Jr. High is terrible (Byrnedale, yes we had a student go there and it is horrible) and the local high school is barely adequate to teach well in a GLOBAL ECONOMY- we're pulling the kids out and choosing charter schools. Many teachers @ the high school have made comments to my teen about the evils of charter schools, and I say to them, step up your education program, balance your budget, and make safety more than a remote concern, and then we'll stay!
