Quote of the Day - poverty

"It would take little more than $50 billion to raise every poor person above the official poverty line, yet the percentage of the population classified as poor hardly budges, while annual welfare spending amounts to four times that much. Where's the money going?" ~ Robert Higgs

Sort of my thinking when they talked about all the people not covered with health insurance. Thirty million I think they said.

Well, why not buy them health insurance? It would be a lot cheaper than taking over a 6th of the economy and making it more expensive and inefficient.

So imagine the buying power of having 30 million customers being bid on by insurance companies. Heck, throw in efficiencies like competing across state lines etc. It would be cheaper for everyone.

So it leads you to believe that Obamacare was never really about health care, it was about power and control over people. Actually it is about power and control. Not healthcare.
