Such things matter...

In short, it won't work and it wouldn't matter if the amendment passed with a %100 landslide. Elected officials have been doing as they liked for generations. Mere words on paper won't make the slightest difference to any of them.

What is needed are officials who will follow the spirit of the US Constitution instead of the letter of the law, as redefined by the USSC. Neither, unfortunately do I see us close to holding state conventions to move the process forward.

The ruling elite in this country (professional politicians) do not want to live by the same rules as the "little people". Neither do incumbents want to level the playing field at the ballot.

Unless or until the grassroots movements recently begun at the Tea Parties begin to feel their oats, I believe that there is little chance that such common sense legislation will move beyond wishful thinking.Timothy W Higginshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17118861693269565715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21829866.post-81681668619307804032009-11-15T18:40:33.335-05:002009-11-15T18:40:33.335-05:00So simple I love it. I would be amazed if our elected officials would allow this to see the light of day.

Our "representatives", on both sides of the aisle, have developed a 'do as I say, not as I do' attitude.
