  1. But when you spend your career in Washington as a fulltime/lifetime politician and exempt yourself from all of the laws that you pass, you begin to think of yourself as special, above and separate from those pesky burdens...

    Pessimism sure, but with a ring of truth to it. Just enough to make you grit your teeth.
