They object to the fact that they are decided instead by middle class independent voters (mostly white). Those voters choose the candidate who most exemplifies their own common sense values and principles.

Desperate to explain why their "enlightened views" are not heeded, such groups commission skewed polling questions to elicit the answer that they are looking for. Of course this means that those middle class deciders (again, mostly white) must be racist or sexist, or simply ignorant.

I thank God for such ignorance, as it continues to protect us from these closet socialists masquerading as progressive thinkers.Timothy W Higginshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17118861693269565715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21829866.post-56101174033970141432008-09-21T10:08:00.001-04:002008-09-21T10:08:00.001-04:00Lisa - that's the unknown...and I think in this ra...Lisa - that's the unknown...and I think in this race, it's bigger than usual...Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12677808307727487766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21829866.post-64781259056606310182008-09-21T10:08:00.000-04:002008-09-21T10:08:00.000-04:00Chuck - as a Nashville, TN, lass, I agree with you...Chuck - as a Nashville, TN, lass, I agree with you.Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12677808307727487766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21829866.post-48605906408062000122008-09-21T10:07:00.000-04:002008-09-21T10:07:00.000-04:00Hooda - since they were trying to decide why Obama...Hooda - since they were trying to decide why Obama isn't running away with the race, and since they already think it's because white people are racist, what did you expect their questions to be about?

LOL.

Sadly, it's not the color of his skin, it's his positions, policies and experience (or lack thereof, depending upon whom you ask).

And I would have loved if they'd asked more detailed questions about those rather than his looks.Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12677808307727487766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21829866.post-88787037519352049142008-09-21T01:38:00.000-04:002008-09-21T01:38:00.000-04:00If the Bradley effect is in play, then the numbers...If the Bradley effect is in play, then the numbers would be even higher of those who will not vote for Obama...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00606533906583651054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21829866.post-1716880399290264032008-09-20T22:20:00.000-04:002008-09-20T22:20:00.000-04:00I grew up in the South (no, not southern Ohio, but...I grew up in the South (no, not southern Ohio, but the SOUTH). All the politicians I knew in my early years were Democrats (Geo. Wallace, Lester Maddox, just to name two) who were also virulent racists. So when I see the majority of blacks drinking the Democrat KoolAid, it drives me crazy, especially when Condi Rice, Colin Powell, and Clarence Thomas are scorned by their own race. I am choosing to vote for the (weak) Republican candidate because BHO is a socialist at best. I think while it is historic and proper that a (partially) black man is the candidate for President for a major ticket, it's a shame that the first one has to have a paucity of experience and a questionable past. But I am certainly NOT voting against Obama on the basis of skin color...Chuck Greerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02396552630251457781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21829866.post-89637536379564738322008-09-20T19:05:00.000-04:002008-09-20T19:05:00.000-04:00Sounds to me like they got the answers their (load...Sounds to me like they got the answers their (loaded) questions were designed to provoke.

I wonder what kind of numbers they would have gotten if they asked policy based questions instead...Hooda Thunkit (Dave Zawodny)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13176392380086227377noreply@blogger.com
