There is something sublime and ridiculous...Maggie,<br /><br />There is something sublime and ridiculous in the concept of awarding a flag to the family of the 'heroic bureaucrat'. While greatly tempted to take on the subject at length (hmmmm...), certainly such high irony deserves the likes of Douglas Adams or the members of Monty Python at the very least.<br /><br />The best I can offer however, is taking this to its logical and absurd extreme. Perhaps we should come up with bureaucratic flags for the IRS, the EPA, and the NEA; with respective anthems to go be played as they march. Perhaps we could create honor guards of men in dark suits, power ties and bowler hats as pallbearers at a 'service funeral'.
