More competition for Kaptur

Former Toledo Police Chief Jack Smith is going to run against Marcy Kaptur for the 9th Congressional District. He's running as a 'tea party' Republican.

He was interviewed today on WSPD and I'm certain the interview will be podcast later this morning.

If you'd like a taste of what he has to offer, he was a speaker at the Toledo Tax Day Tea Party - and was definitely the favorite of the crowd.

Here's his speech from that day (he begins at 4:00 in the first one and continues in the second one):

  1. Maggie,

An inspiring breath of fresh air, to say the very least!

  2. Maggie,

Good afternoon, I'm very happy to see that Jack Smith has thrown his hat in the ring to unseat our Socialist Misrepresentative of the 9th District; Ms Marcy Kaptur. I would like to support Mr. Smith but have been unable to find a web site for him and the LCRP site is still under control of a pretender to the position as I see it.

I am The Oath Keepers Ohio Region 3Coordinator and we as a National organization have and will be vetting candidates for our endorsement throughout the Country and Jack Smith will be Supported by Oath Keepers.org at the very minimum locally. Do you know how we can contact him and/or his campaign. We want to offer our support but not if Jack would prefer we don't do so publicly as an Organization.

I'm looking forward to your response.

  3. Steve,

I can ensure that he gets your message and contact information....don't believe he's got a campaign organization established yet...
