"For the average American family, filling out a tax form has become like attacking a puzzle to which, often enough, there is no right answer. But we're all supposed to swear, on penalty of perjury, that we've done our best to find it." ~ Paul Greenberg
"If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 50 years ago, a liberal 25 years ago, and a racist today." ~ Thomas Sowell
"The difference between death and taxes is death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets." ~ Will Rogers
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them." ~ George Bernard Shaw

Filling out your own tax form? The 1040-EZ that isn't? Surely you jest!
The monolithic industry that does a Maypole dance around April 15th every year will not be eliminated without a struggle, and please believe me when I say that some of the brightest people in the entire United States devote a large portion of their lives devising new strategies to defeat the enemy each year. If printed, the US tax code is not measured in pages. It is measured in either pounds of paper or the cubic feet needed to store the printed matter.
The state of taxation in the US is sickening, especially when you consider that the one single government organization universally feared by every government official in the US is not the NSA, FBI, Homeland Security or any dirt digging yellow journalist. It's the IRS.
We are over taxed, pure and simple. Worse, we have little say in how the money that is stolen from us is wasted.
