Mayor, Council, City Administrators go door to door to remind citizens of 3/4% renewal importance
Mayor Mike Bell, City Council President Joe McNamara, Council Members and City Administrators will go door to door at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 to remind citizens of the vital importance of renewing the city's ¾% income tax. It appears as Issue 1 on the March 6th primary ballot. The group will meet at Rick’s City Diner and will then go door to door in the Old Orchard area.
Toledo’s 3/4% income tax expires in December 2012 and will provide $51 million in revenue to the general fund this year. The issue was first passed in 1982 and has been renewed consistently by the community to support core city services.

Not that it isn't nice that the Mayor and Council have found something that they are willing to go door-to-door for, but couldn't doing so be considered panhandling and a violation of municipal code?
