On Tuesday, January 6, 2009, I did a blog post comparing Mayor Carty Finkbeiner's campaign promises to his most recent state of the city address. I looked at what he said he was going do to and compared it to the issues he highlighted during his speech.
Today, The Blade catches up by comparing the state of the city speech to previous policy initiatives Carty has espoused.
They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, so I'll be flattered...

Smiling - insane, eh? I see that happening all the time - particularly with what I write about Strickland and gambling and the Harriman, TN coal ash disaster, lately.
Absolute flattery. :)
Also - I wanted to tell you how much I love how you've got your alert up n every post! That is great. Good luck.
And the newspaper industry wonders why its sales are declining?
thanks!
One step ahead Maggie! Though is it truly flattery coming from The Blade? I would think it more along the lines of "oh a good idea, let's copy it without giving credit where it is due." That sounds more like the Blade to me! maybe I am just a bit cynical of them?
I've noticed that happening and of course credit is rarely if ever given. Not just in the Blade but other media as well.
By the time commercial media gets around to being inspired by people who are learned, intelligent and willing to put serious work into an article, the game's over. The winner is relaxing with a martini.
I'll buy you the next drink, Maggie.
Maggie,
I would compare this more to copying off of the smart kid's paper in school ... and still getting it wrong.
Maggie,
You da (wo)man!
Hold your head proud and high!
