New option for paying Toledo water bills planned

Press Release:

Toledo’s Department of Public Utilities Announces Unique, Voluntary Monthly Budget Program for Utility Bills

Program enables customers to make advance payments

Toledo Mayor Michael P. Bell and Director of Public Utilities David E. Welch will announce a new, unique program enabling residential customers receiving City of Toledo utility bills to make voluntary, monthly payments at a press conference at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the lobby of the Ohio Building, 420 Madison Avenue.

Letters will be mailed soon informing customers of the program. Each letter will contain 12 stubs to help customers make the voluntary payments. While the stubs will suggest a monthly amount based on the customer’s past water usage, the customer can make a payment of any amount at any time in between quarterly bills.

Customers will continue to receive a utility bill in the mail every three months. These quarterly bills will reflect any advance payments made and will show the balance due. Customers are required to pay the final amount shown on their quarterly bill to remain current.
