Mayor, Council urge support of 3/4% payroll income tax

Press release (talk about timing!):

Mayor, Council join to urge support of 3/4% levy

Mayor Michael P. Bell, Council President Joe McNamara and members of Toledo City Council will join together to voice their support of Issue 1 at a 3:45 pm press conference Tuesday, January 31 outside of council chambers.

Issue 1 is on the March primary ballot and passage would renew the city’s ¾% payroll tax levy. The ¾% is anticipated to provide over $51 million to city coffers in 2012 and its continuance is vital to ongoing city services, including police and fire operations.

What: Mayor and Council join to support ¾% levy

When: 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Where: Outside council chambers, One Government Center

And if you people in Toledo DON'T pass the 3/4% income "temporary" income tax....the end of the world will take place. The city will shut down, police and fire will be closed, cats will sleep with dogs, it'll be worse than Ghostbusters! Just goes to show...if you give politicians any money for any length of time, they feel they're entitled to it FOREVER! Wake up Toledo! Make them do WITHOUT for a while. It won't be the end of the world.
